House Of... Not Blanks?
Due to popular demand, we are happy to introduce Embellished by HOB.
What is it?
Embellished by HOB is a customization service where we will embellish our blanks for you.
What kind of embellishments are available?
We can offer the following:
Screen printing
Digital (DTG) printing
Heat transfer application (paper, vinyl, photo, raised silicone, reflective, flocking, glitter, glow in the dark)
Direct embroidery (satin stitch, fill stitch, zig zag stitch, single need stitch, chain stitch)
Appliqués (poly/tackle twill, felt, custom fabric)
Label application (only in conjunction with an embellishment)
Note: there are some limitations in terms of sizing and application placement when embellishing on finished garments. We will review your artwork and work with you to find a solution for your project if your artwork is subject to any of these limitations.
Are there any minimums?
Yes. The minimum order quantity for all embellishment orders is 100 units of the same embellishment/artwork. You are allowed to split this quantity across different garments.
For example:
This is possible: print the same logo on 50 hoodies, 25 crew necks and 25 t-shirts;
This is not possible: print a logo on 50 hoodies and then embroider a logo on 50 hoodies.
Note: There may be additional costs for colour changes in printing and set up fees that correspond to multiple colour artwork requirements in an order.
How does it work?
Below is how the process works:
E-mail custom@houseofblanks.com with the details of your project. Please provide the following:
which House Of Blanks garments are you looking to customize (styles and colours)?
how many units of each item are you looking to make?
what kind of embellishment are you looking for (print, embroidery, etc)?
include all necessary artwork files;
if you have a tech pack, please send it. If not, it's okay, just let us know where you want the embellishments to be placed on the garment;
if labeling is required, let us know that too.
The more information that you are able to provide, the better we will be able to help you and the more accurate we will be at quoting your order. If you are unsure of anything, or have any questions we can work with you to ensure the product will exceed your expectations.
We will review the details of your project and a House Of Blanks team member will contact you if there are any questions or concerns and to provide a quotation for sampling and production.
If the quotation is approved, we will send you an invoice for sampling. This invoice will cover any fixed costs to create the sample. These would include the screen and film setup costs for printing or the digitizing costs for embroidery, for example.
Upon receiving your payment for the sampling invoice, we will initiate the sample creation and send it to you within 2 weeks.
You review the sample and if approved, let us know the final order styles/colours/quantities and we will issue an invoice for production. It's important to also know the confirmed shipping address and service at this time because we will include the shipping cost on this invoice.
You pay the invoice and we will proceed to production with a goal of completing within 2 weeks.
What format should the artwork files be?
For digital (DTG) printing, provide art files in PNG format.
For screen printing, provide art files in vector format, either AI or PDF files. If your artwork is a photo, you can provide a JPG or PNG file for that.
For embroidery, provide art files in vector format, either AI or PDF files.
Very important: Submit your artwork in actual size that you would like the artwork applied to the garment (ie. If you would like a 10” width screen print please size the vector in your artwork document to 10” width)
Note: your artwork may be subject to separation charges if required. If necessary, this will be discussed with you by the House of Blanks in the quoting process.
What fees can I expect for sampling?
We always recommend doing a sample on an actual garment. In addition to the cost of the garment, you can expect fixed sampling/setup costs as below.
Screen and film - screenprinting is a process done with the use of screens and films. The number of screens and films depends on the number of colours in the artwork (1 screen and film per colour). Screens and films are held for a small period of time for reordering. These can typically be reused if you place another order and these charges may be waived for future reorders unless otherwise discussed.
Digitizing
Digitizing is the process of using embroidery software to transform artwork into a design file that will allow the embroidery machines to follow the stitches required in your artwork. The cost of digitizing ranges based on your artwork and will be provided in your quote. This is a one time fee and barring any changes to the artwork, this file can be reused indefinitely for reordering purposes.
Set Up
All embellishments will be subject to set up fees for sampling and bulk production. We will provide these in the quote to be reviewed and approved before proceeding.
